Lt. Governor John Bohlinger Statement on Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Date: Monday, January 15, 2007
Contact: Sarah Elliott 444-9725
"The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a peacemaker and a revolutionary thinker for his time. Twenty-one years ago our nation showed our respect for Dr. King by creating the only permanent federal holiday honoring a 20th-century figure. His birthday reminds us to have faith in the strength of peace and the power of community. I encourage all Montanans to help take care of one another and participate in community service as a way to honor this important day."
