Executive OrderEXECUTIVE ORDER PROCLAIMING AN EMERGENCY TO EXIST IN THE STATE OF MONTANAWHEREAS, terrorist events occurring in New York City and the Washington D.C. area have created a need for a higher degree of readiness throughout the Nation; and WHEREAS, the uncertainty of possible terrorist attacks in other areas of the country have heightened the need for increased preparedness and awareness; and WHEREAS, these conditions authorize the Governor to mobilize state resources to protect life, health and property and; WHEREAS, an emergency proclamation authorizes the Governor under section 10-3-311 and 10-3-312, MCA, to expend funds from the general fund to meet contingencies and needs arising from the emergency. NOW, THEREFORE, I, JUDY MARTZ, Governor of the State of Montana, pursuant to the authority vested in me as Governor under the Constitution of the State of Montana, Title 10, Chapter 3, MCA, and under other applicable statutes, do hereby declare that a state of emergency exists in the State of Montana as defined in Sections 10-3-103 and 10-3-302. This order is effective September 11, 2001.
