EXECUTIVE ORDER RESCINDING THE MONTANA CONSENSUS COUNCIL
WHEREAS, the Executive Order No. 2-94, effective on January 22,
1994, created the Montana Consensus Council, governed by a Board of
Directors, appointed by the Governor, whose members represent a
cross-section of Montana's citizens; and
WHEREAS, specific language in Executive Order No. 2-94 provided
that the Montana Consensus Council will remain in effect, unless
rescinded by subsequent Executive Order; and
WHEREAS, it is an objective of this administration to make the
most effective use of state resources and funding; and
WHEREAS, the 58th Legislature has passed HB 741,
which codifies the Montana Consensus Council, establishes a board
of directors, and attaches that entity to the Montana Department of
Administration effective on July 1, 2003.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, JUDY MARTZ, Governor of the State of Montana,
by virtue of the authority vested in me pursuant to the
Constitution and the laws of the State of Montana, do hereby
rescind, effective July 1, 2003, Executive Order No. 2-94 that
created the Montana Consensus Council.
