Governor Racicot Appoints Patty Myers to Board of Public Education

Gov. Marc Racicot today announced his appointment of Great Falls resident Patty H. Myers to the Montana Board of Public Education. Ms. Myers' appointment is effective February 1, 2000. She replaces Barbara Keim of Billings, whose seven-year term has ended.

Gov. Racicot commented, "Patty's professional expertise and dedication to quality education are tremendous attributes which will serve the people of Montana well during her term on the board."

For the past 25 years, Ms. Myers has been a second grade teacher at Lewis and Clark Elementary in Great Falls. She has also worked as an instructor for computer classes for Montana State University-Northern since 1996.

Ms. Myers, 53, earned her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Montana. She also has two master's of education degrees from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA.

In 1998, Ms. Myers received a Milken Family Foundation National Educator award, as well as the Montana Teacher of the Year Award. She is also active in a variety of professional activities and committees.
