(HELENA)-Gov. Marc Racicot today named Greg Todd As District Judge in Montana's Thirteenth Judicial District (Billings).
In naming the Billings resident, Gov. Racicot said, "While all three finalists for this position were highly-qualified, reputable attorneys, Mr. Todd's experience with all aspects of the law have prepared him well for this challenging position. Montanans, especially those of the Thirteenth District, will be well served by Judge Todd."
Mr. Todd graduated from Billings West High School in 1969 and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1973. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Montana Law School in Missoula in 1977.
The 49-year-old Mr. Todd is presently a partner in the law firm of Roybal, Lee and Todd in Billings. He also served as Deputy County Attorney for Gallatin County from 1977 - 1980 before becoming an associate and partner with Towe, Ball, Enright and Mackey from 1980 - 1992. Mr. Todd also taught a law course for engineers and architects at MSU-Bozeman and an evidence course for the paralegal program at Rocky Mountain College.
The recipient of a 1995 Head Start Community Service Award, Mr. Todd is also currently the President of the Amend Park Development Council and enjoys volunteering as a soccer coach and referee.
He will assume his new position on December 1, 2000. Mr. Todd replaces retiring Judge Maurice Colberg. The other two finalists presented for Gov. Racicot's consideration by the Judicial Nominating Commission were Ingrid Gustafson and Terry Seiffert, both of Billings.
