GOVERNOR RACICOT NAMES NEW PRESS SECRETARY

Governor MARC RACICOT today named Anastasia Burton as Press Secretary.

She will assume her new assignment on Friday, May 1, replacing Rorie Hanrahan, who has decided to return to Montana State University.

Currently, Ms. Burton is the public information officer in Helena for the Department of Health and Human Services where she has worked since the department’s creation in the summer of 1995. A native of Conrad, Ms. Burton is the daughter of John and Marion Angelos of Conrad. She was a 1984 graduate of Conrad High School and was also a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the University of Great Falls. There, she earned her Bachelors degree in broadcast communications.

“I am delighted that we will have such a professional in our office,” said Gov. RACICOT. “Anastasia has done a superb job facilitating communications within the state’s largest department during a complex reorganization and some massive changes such as statewide welfare reform. She has shown her commitment to openness and facilitating the flow of information between government and the people we work for.”

Ms. Burton will work under the supervision of Andrew Malcolm, the Governor’s Director of Communications and Executive Assistant. Her salary will remain the same as in the health department, $32,300.
