Executive Order Continuing the Department of Corrections Advisory Council

I, JUDY MARTZ, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Governor by the Constitution and laws of the State of Montana, and specifically pursuant to Section 2-15-122, MCA, do hereby continue the Department of Corrections Advisory Council.

PURPOSE:

WHEREAS, the Department of Corrections is actively engaged in enhancing credibility with the Legislature by re-establishing effective communication channels with the public it serves, the Council shall actively work to improve the Montana Corrections System by making recommendations regarding the corrections policy and programs.

COMPOSITION:

The Department of Corrections Advisory Council shall be composed of no more than twenty-five (25) members. The names and addresses of members who shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor are submitted by separate letter to the Secretary of State. The Lieutenant Governor shall serve as Chairman.

DURATION:

The Council shall exist for a period of two years from the effective date of this Order unless otherwise ordered by subsequent Executive Order.
